Sandstorm — Cambridge Reading Adventures (Purple Band)

A short illustrated story from the Cambridge Reading Adventures Purple Band — the level for children who are reading independently but still building stamina and confidence with longer sentences.

Sandstorm follows a small adventure with rich descriptive vocabulary, sentences that flow across pages, and a clear story problem to resolve. Children at this level should be reading aloud with growing fluency and starting to read silently for short stretches.

Best for ages 5–7. Sits between the early decodable bands (Yellow / Blue) and the confident-reader bands (White / Lime).
