Book 2 of the synthetic phonics series introduces the next set of letter sounds — m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r, h, b — and the first taste of blending three sounds into real words. By the end of this book, your child should be able to decode short CVC words like cat, red, mug and hop on their own.
Each spread introduces a sound, gives plenty of writing practice, and ends with simple decoding exercises. The pace is gentle — one sound per session is enough.
Best for ages 3–5 (Pre-K / KG) who have completed Book 1 or already know the first six sounds (s, a, t, i, p, n). If your child is still struggling with single sounds, start with Book 1.
