Qualifications that count

Certified by the people who set the standard

Anyone can call themselves a tutor. Monika’s teaching is formally accredited by the global and Indian authorities that set the standard for English — here’s what each one means for your child.

University of Cambridge
Cambridge Certified Educator

Trained and assessed against Cambridge’s internationally recognised teaching framework for English — the same standard used to certify teachers in schools worldwide.

Why it matters: your child learns grammar and English the way it’s taught in top international schools — structured, correct, and confidence-building.
Jolly Learning Ltd
Jolly Phonics Accredited

Formally trained in the Jolly Phonics method — a synthetic phonics programme used in over 100 countries that teaches the 42 letter sounds through multi-sensory, play-based learning.

Why it matters: a proven, step-by-step path from first sounds to independent reading — no guesswork, no memorising whole words.
International TEFL Certification
TEFL Qualified Instructor

Formally trained in Teaching English as a Foreign Language — the globally recognised qualification for teaching English to children whose first language is not English.

Why it matters: most Indian children learn English as a second or third language — TEFL is the qualification built precisely for that reality.
NIPUN · Govt. of India
Google Certified Educator
Microsoft Certified Educator
The story behind LittleLearns

I started LittleLearns because I believe every child can become a confident reader

For over a decade I’ve sat beside children at that exact moment reading “clicks” — when letters stop being shapes and start telling stories. There is nothing like it.

I began my career as an early-years teacher in mainstream classrooms, where I watched bright, curious children fall behind simply because reading was taught to thirty of them at once. The ones who needed a little more time didn’t get it. The ones who raced ahead got bored. Reading became a source of stress instead of joy — and I knew it didn’t have to be that way.

So I trained. Properly. I qualified as a TEFL instructor, earned my Cambridge certification, became accredited in the Jolly Phonics method, and qualified under the Government of India’s NIPUN mission so my teaching would align with both global best practice and your child’s school curriculum. I’m also a Google Certified Educator and Microsoft Certified Educator, which means the way I run a live online classroom is held to the same standard as the world’s best digital-learning teachers.

“A child who learns to read with confidence doesn’t just do better at school — they fall in love with learning itself.”

Today, I teach small groups of no more than six children, live online via Zoom. Small enough that I know exactly where every child is, what they find tricky, and how to make them light up. I teach every class myself — when you book with LittleLearns, you get me, not a rotating roster of tutors.

Whether your child is sounding out their very first word or building the grammar they’ll carry into Grade 8, my job is the same: to make them feel capable, curious, and genuinely excited to keep going.

Why families stay

What makes a class with Monika different

It isn’t just the certifications — it’s how she teaches. Every choice is made for one reason: to help your child genuinely understand, not just memorise.

Never more than 6 children
Real attention for every child. Monika knows exactly where each one is, what they find hard, and how to move them forward — impossible in a class of thirty.
One consistent teacher
Your child builds a relationship with the same trusted adult every session. No rotating tutors, no starting over — continuity is how confidence is built.
Multi-sensory, play-based
Children learn through actions, songs, stories and games — the Jolly Phonics way. Learning that feels like play is learning that sticks.
Aligned to your child’s school
NIPUN and Cambridge training means lessons complement CBSE, ICSE and NCERT — reinforcing school work instead of competing with it.
Honest progress updates
You’re never in the dark. Monika shares simple, regular updates on what your child has mastered and what’s next — so you can support at home.
Live online via Zoom
Classes happen live with Monika on Zoom — every bit as warm and interactive as sitting in the room. No commute, no traffic, same small group every week.
